IN 1979, THEY DESTROYED OUR ROCK, OUR FOUNDATION, OUR HOME THE ORIGINAL DUNBAR HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING! MR. THORNHILL, VICE MAYOR AT THE TIME, TRIED HIS BEST TO STOP IT, BUT BEFORE YOU KNEW IT, THE WRECKING BALL WAS DESTROYING OUR HISTORY! I REMEMBER AT THE TIME DRIVING UP 12TH STREET HILL AND VIEWING THE EVENT, I DIDN’T HAVE A CAMERA AT THE TIME, BUT I KNEW THAT THERE WERE PICTURES SOMEWHERE! HERE THEY ARE!!! THERE WAS A BIG ARTICLE IN THE NEWSPAPER WHERE THE BUILDING WAS TO BE SAVED AND REBUILT….I GUESS IT WAS A LIE! BEFORE ANYONE KNEW IT, DEAR OLD DUNBAR WAS GONE!!
